hotoRescue is a totally risk free compact flash, smartmedia, memory stick, XD and SD, microdrive data recovery solution as it does not write to the recovered media. It will show you accurate and reliable previews of the photographs and images that are recoverable. PhotoRescue is able to recover and preview pictures, images, photos and other files on both the Windows and the Mac platform.

Photorescue has established itself as the best performing digital picture recovery solution: its automated defragmentation algorithms allow it to consistently score better than its competition in independent tests. However, automated file defragmentation has its limits. That is why Photorescue Advanced allows you to manipulate the clusters pictures are made of and adds interactivity and visual feedback to the data recovery process.

Firstly, Photorescue Advanced will perform a normal data recovery scan. That first phase will usually recover a large number of full pictures and a few fragmented ones. Some files may actually contain too much data and need to be truncated to put the extra allocation units back into the useable cluster pool. In the second recovery phase, the user will manipulate those allocation units and will grow potential valid pictures out of the free cluster pool.

PhotoRescue supports the recovery of all file types but its algorithms are particularly optimized for JPG/JPEG files, TIFF files, GIFs and BMPs. It also offers a constantly updated support for most camera's RAW file formats: CR2, RAW, RAF, CRW, NEF, ORF, MRW, etc and many types of movie files. In some cases, we can even rebuild pictures that have suffered minor corruptions.
